Wifi - How do I use it?

Never used WiFi on a phone before. So last night I was at a hotel that had WiFi. I turned on WiFi on the phone, I found the Hotels signal and clicked on connect, after that I was lost. I assumed I should open the brosser and I would get a sign in page...nope. Oh, I had turned off the data signal. So, can someone walk me though how this is done. Thanks

With hotel connections when you open the browser it takes you to a page. On this page it gives you terms and agreements. If you dont look over the page carefully you may miss a check box. Most people do not realise this and try to navigate away before checking the box. When you navigate away without agreeing it doesnt let you do anything. Perhaps this happened and you did not realise. Its happened to me before
