If you have access to WiFi most of the time look at republic wireless. They require you to buy there phone (moto x $300 no contract) but plan rates are amazing startingvat $5 / month.

I am seeing battery issues now as well. The note had good battery life so didn't notice it.

Slim Armor is well made but it does make the phone thicker and wider. It does look good.

If your using live hotmail or outlook.com or a custom domain hosted by them try the free no adds version of outlook for android app by Microsoft. It will also sync your contacts and calander to the stock apps. Nice app and provides true push capability.

I don't understand why this is so hit and miss. I just tried setting up my wife's account on a new Nexus 5 and have the same issue as you do. Yet it works fine on my Note 3. At least the outlook app works well. I will post if I find a solution to using the stock app.

BeRich I am using a hotmail account with the stock email app and it provides push email. Just make sure it is setup as a exchange sync account not POP or IMAP.

I hear you. I was forced to move to Android due to a few apps I needed that were not on WP yet. Android can actually do most of what my Nokia could do but needs a lot of work including rooting to make it happen. The app selection is awesome though.
