Why is my Galaxy Note 3 unable to send/receive text messages and heating up?

Galaxy Note 3 text message problem and heating up

My Galaxy Note 3 frequently can't send/receive message and it heats up and drains battery when that happen. How can I diagnose this problem?

Usually when that happen I need to restart my phone multiple times until the text finally send... it is getting really annoying now...

Welcome to Android Central! How's the cell signal when that happens? If this is occurring when the phone has poor signal, it might cause excess battery drain since it's straining to latch onto a signal (which can also cause it to heat up).

the phone is with good reception and can receive calls... it seems like only the text message is acting up...

You're able to make calls or access your mobile data during those instances where you can't send texts? I'm trying to figure out if the phone's cell radio is having problems at that time, or if it's truly limited to SMS.
