Calendar syncing?

Could anybody help me with syncing my Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 calendar with a windows smartphone? I use Google Calendar and I'd like to sync it with my windows 8 phone. Can I do it without using Outlook between the 2 devices? Thank you for any suggestions!

Thank you, B. Diddy for taking the time to reply. I have been doing those things for some days now, but I still cannot sync my tablet with my phone. Sometimes, when I save my entries in my gmail address, they appear on the phone. When I delete them from the tablet, they still appear on the phone. And vice versa... Does this sound logical? I'm confused!

Sorry, it's hard for me to test things out for you, since I don't have a Windows Phone device. Hopefully someone else here can help!
