Is there anything I need to know about using MS Exchange on Android/S5?

So, I'm about to make the jump to the S5 from my iPhone! I use MS Exchange for my primary email account and for two way OTA calendar/contact/email sync. I want to set up my email in the stock email app. Is there anything I should be aware about with respect to MS Exchange for mail/calendar/contacts on Android or should everything sync just fine? Thanks! :)

Android supports Exchange, however it supports Mail. calendar and contacts (natively). Tasks cannot be synced by default, without a 3rd party app. Having said that, my HTC One M8 has Tasks sync by default (provided by HTC). I don't know about the Samsung.
Another thing to consider is the quality of the default mail app. At least on the HTC it doesn't render html mails well, especially compared to the iPhone.
Fortunately there are good options on the Google Play Store. I use Nine for Mail (it also syncs contacts and calendars, tasks sync is coming soon). https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...details?id=com.ninefolders.hd3&token=plwqw0fC
. For Tasks I use this: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...ps/details?id=org.myklos.inote&token=HwXIWdn5
Both apps work really work and they support Exchange features that the iPhone never had, like Categories! :)
There is also a more sophisticated option: Touchdown. It has really great features, but the UI is archaic, and it looks like a ten years old app..If you don't mind though, then this is the best Exchange client available: https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...=com.nitrodesk.droid20.nitroid&token=uOjilBN1

Thank you! I'll look into those apps. Regarding exchange sync, when I set up my exchange account, the calendar should sync to the stock calendar app and contacts to the stock contacts app, as it did on my iPhone (and, a lifetime ago, blackberry)?

Yes, it will. Of course, if you use Touchdown it won't, because it uses its own app.
Touchdown will sync with the local contacts though, so you will be able to use them.

Touchdown is great! You can sync calendar to the native calendar by setting up the native sync as well as touchdown and check only the calendar sync. Touchdown has a checkbox for copy contacts to phone, so its unnecessary to "double sync" contacts. I like touchdown because of the way it handles folders, I use lots of rules and folders. The initial screen is 'unread mail' and it shows mail from all the folders you have have selected for sync on one screen. Be sure to select "Hide attachments from Gallery' in setup so you dont get all the stationary people use showing up in your photos.

The S5 supports task sync as well as syncing to stock calendar and contacts. The only time I used touchdown was on the Galaxy Nexus because the active sync on the Android email client did not work properly. No issues with the Touchwiz email client going back to the S2.
