I agree, if the hero or G1 can get better frame rates , the EVO certainly should too! Hopefully they fix it before the 30day trial with Sprint ends, else I can foresee a few (including me) returning the phone back to Sprint.

Not exactly, most of the times 30fps is fine. Less flickering and smooth movements are observed around 60fps, ex fast moving objects benefit even more from higher frame rates.. right?

4G seems to be down again

It is, still spotty 4G reception for me though :(

I am in South Austin too and I have never seen more than 2 bars on 4G. Even on my HTC hero, as I mentioned earlier, I just get 3 bars inside the apartment.

UTnick, there seems to be a nationwide outage for 4G, I can't seem to connect to 4G as well. Please refer to this thread.

Hope that they upgrading towers to be more efficient? sigh, ironically my ATT phone has all 5 bars! edit: to add, even the HTC Hero I have just shows 3 bars. jmyadagod, you unrevoked 4g for us all? :P

I had decent 4G coverage till today afternoon. After that the phone just scans for 4G, says there is a connection available but never connects to 4G. I called spring customer service and they say there is a nationwide outage affecting their services. Anyone else having the same issues?

LOL major confusion when my BB rep was scanning the items for billing... paying attention saved me about $70. I had a Hero as the first line and EVO as the second, new activation. They had listed Hero for $29.99 with new activation but when he was doing the billing it rang up as $99. Also...

My local BB just called and confirmed the appointment. 7:40am Friday, can't wait!! They had earlier confirmed that they will be giving out the free bluetooth headset.

Guess, its time for people to decide. Wait for the new iPhone or dump AT&T now with a lower ETF and explore other options. I lost my iPhone so I was always going to pay the ETF rather than full price for a new one.

I personally think it will take a long time for 2.2 to come to the EVO. I believe the reason is that Sprint will need to figure out a way to block the tethering capabilities that come with 2.2

I dont mind since I am in a 4G city. It definitely comes out to be a better plan than I had on the iPhone and it is 4G so cant complain. AT&T wont let me replace my iPhone (dropped it in a cab, I know sigh) at a subsidized price which is why I am making the jump.
