Just throwing this one out there for everyone. My wife is a home health nurse and today she had to call 911 for one of her patients after talking to the patient on the phone. She called from her Samsung Epic and after getting transfered from different 911 centers because my wife wasn't in the same town as the patient she noticed after she placed the call to 911 there was a red and white emergency icon on her status bar. Also she couldn't make any outgoing calls. Whenever she tried to call me or someone else it said something to the effect "Outgoing emergency calls only". I told her via text message to restart her phone and this unlocked it and returned it to normal.
Hopefully nobody has to ever call 911 but if you do and naturally your in a panic situation at that point in time, don't freak out when your phone stops making calls just simply reboot your phone.
