I got a Nexus S 4G today from my cousin because they left Sprint and it is activated and working fine but when I try to update it says it has the current version (it really has Android version 2.3.7). Does anyone know a way around this? I'd like to update it and root it.

Thank you in advance.

Oh, wow I feel extremely stupid. I kept looking and was seeing 4. something everywhere. My apologies, thank you for clarifying it as well.

Gingerbread v2.3.7 is the latest official version of OS for the Nexus S 4G. It is true we have leaks and custom ROM's built off Google source for Android 4.x/Ice Cream Sandwich but it has yet to be updated to the "official" OS .

Grab a few and test drive em for a few days each... That is the only real way you will get a feel for what is out there..
