Leaving Sprint and the Photon behind

What will happen to my Photon once I make the switch to another phone (VRZ Note III)? Would I be able to use it as basically an MP3 player/wifi device for my kid?

I use it to stream content to my TV/ stereo... via WiFi... mp3player, I use it for just about everything but a phone. ;-)

If you have one of the webtop dock options (I have a modified Atrix lapdock that I hardware-hacked to reverse the USB and HDMI connectors), you can still use it with wifi to so some light web surfing - unfortunately the webtop used a crippled version of Ubuntu that had issues. Using it as an MP3 player/wifi device for your child would also work.
