Today I tried to upgrade to build 3 from build 2. I followed the same steps that I used to install build 2. I wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache, and dalvik cache. I then flashed the new build and gapps. When I booted into AOKP I had lost my IMEI and had no signal. I thought I was screwed. Luckily I restored the backup of build 2 and the phone is working fine now. I have been researching this all day. I am now aware of how to back up IMEI, but am not sure what I did wrong.
What did I do wrong on the install?
Was I lucky that the restore worked after this, or is the IMEI included in the backup I made?
