No SMS notification after ATT messages set up

I set up the ATT messages app on my GS3. I hated it, so I silenced it's notifications and stopped using it. Now I don't get any notifications for my stock SMS app! Any advice here?

Go into the stock messaging app and make sure that the notification option is checked. If it is try disabling the ATT messages app.

Had the same problem. It's a half-baked app. After I uninstalled it, it turned out that it was still activated on AT&T's network, preventing the AT&T voicemail app from installing.

Forgot to mention that you might also need to call ATT to disable it on their end. That was the case on mine since its also considered a service.
