The app is named Cleaner showing in the screen below.

Moving from my BB Keyone to Pixel 7 migrating applications, this app did not get transferred.

Also I can not find it as an installed app on the BB Keyone.

I can no longer find it in Play Store. This app blacked out the display, screen which made it easy to clean polish the screen display.

See attached screenshot that shows the app Icon, and how it clears the screen.

Wondering what happened to this app. It was pretty useful.

Does anyone know an app that does the same thing.View attachment 453885View attachment 453886

"Cleaner" apps really are not necessary with modern Android devices, and can often paradoxically impact performance and battery life. Keep in mind that Android wants RAM to be at least half full, which allows for more efficient app opening/switching. The more the user manually kills apps in the background, the more CPU cycles and power need to be expended to open apps back into RAM. Let the system take care of itself.

This has become such an issue that Google has decided to make these kinds of apps useless in Android 14: https://www.droid-life.com/2023/03/...ing-will-be-useless-starting-with-android-14/

By the sounds of it, this wasn't one of those "cleaner apps" as it only just presented an empty screen, so literally the screen could be physically cleaned more easily.

Ah yes, you're correct. I didn't read closely enough.

But why would an app like this be necessary? Why not just put the screen to sleep and then clean the screen?
