Android TV Box help needed

At 56 years old I confess technology confuses me so I desperately need help and please keep any advice as[language removed by Mod] simple as possible.

I recently moved to Malaysia from the UK and I thought that getting an Android TV Box would be a good way of accessing a range of TV and movies. I believe TV is live streamed so due to the time difference, I need a way of recording TV shows through the night. I only have a standard TV, not a smart TV.

Can I do this and if so, what do I need to buy and download to get it all to work?

Or you could use Kodi on Android or Kodi for Windows or Kodi for Mac. Kodi records what you set it to watch. (You don't have to have the TV turned on for it to record, and you can always "watch it again" later.)
