Has anyone gone from a Moto Z Play to a G5 Plus? I am tempted because I can use more space (64gb)and a little smaller size would be nice.

I did but not in that order. I had a few devices in between. Although build quality is nice on both I do prefer the build quality on the play. But when price is factured in I think the g5 wins. Overall a very solid phone.
I think the z play is easier to hold without a case. It's a little grippier IMO
Yeah. Like i said both are great phones. But the G5 plus has a smooth plastic frame. Makes it a little slippery. The play definitely wins that area for me.Interesting... And surprising. Feel in hand would be the only reason I'd consider switching from my Z Play to the G5+.

I think the G5 plus has a better camera than the play though.
Don't know where the OP is located, but the G5 is not available for sale in the U.S.Or you could look at the Moto G5 which is 144*73mm
Your son might drop it in the puddle again. So should have bought a waterproof phone like a used xperia z3 compact, etc. Or if your son is under 12,you should buy him cheap $50 phones like Moto E not $250 phones.Compared getting one or the other to replace LG G3 32GB phone that I bought used for my son and now have to replace because he dropped phone in puddle.
Went with the G5 Plus.. Had a real hard decision but decided against getting a 32GB phone entirely so all that left me was G5 Plus 64GB.. Bought from best Buy
Unfortunately after 18 mos. of having that phone that was his first drop. It happens to the best of us. I looked at many used phones unlocked and locked into Verizon and came to decide on the G5 Plus 64GB of the older Droid Z Play 32GB more over GB than anything else. He is a responsible kid so I trust him to be responsible for his own items. He damages this he has to earn money to buy a new one himself.Your son might drop it in the puddle again.
