Connecting Galaxy S5 to Certain Bluetooth Devices

I found a solution to my problem. My Galaxy S5 was paired to my car Bluetooth but it wouldn't connect unless I did it manually on my phone each time I got in the car. My old S4 used to connect automatically so this issue was driving me crazy. What finally worked was turning my fingerprint phone screen lock off. Once I changed the security on my phone to a simple swipe to unlock the first screen, the phone began connecting automatically to my car Bluetooth each time I got in the car without touching the phone. Sure, that means I have no security lock on my phone now, but at least the Bluetooth issue is resolved. Hope this works for you too.
