Delaminating screen?

Can't tell if my screen is separating from the phone or it's something else. Any ideas?
I don't want to take the tempered glass protector off if I don't have to...figured that it might make it worse.

Seems to extend beyond the protector, so I'd say it's the glass beneath. Unless you can 'move' that portion (like a stuck flake in between or something) then it probably is coming off. Would definitely not get it wet now, for sure, but if it doesn't bother you or affects touch, it's probably still OK.

I can handle the "look" of it but probably just lost most of its trade-in or resell value now.

Depends on where you trade it in. Samsung trade-in, yes, they do take that as unacceptable and will only net you 25 bucks for your device. Some carriers will take it, just do it in person and get the trade in value right there and then.
