Question Duplicate messages

For the last month I have been receiving duplicate messages. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it but multiple times a day I have old images or messages from days or weeks ago that come through again.

Reset the message app by clearing its data then force stop it .

Also contact your carrier and ask if there are any issues with the network lately.

Does your carrier offer some kind of cloud backup for your phone? I'm thinking maybe stuff is being saved to the cloud and reappearing on your phone

It might help if you provided a few more details.

When you say, coming through, it sounds like these are incoming messages. Are they from the same person or group?

Have you spoken to any of, if more than one, the original senders? Is anyone complaining about receiving old messages from you?

Why do you feel this is a problem on your end and not something they are doing or have done?

Are any of the messages from old dead conversations or conversations that haven't been active for a while?

How long has this been happening?

How many messages do you have on your device?
