Help, recovery boot black screen

i rooted my phone with unrevoked 3 with a custom clockworkmod for my dinc. everything worked out okay but i installed rom manager and clicked flash recovery image. now when i go to back up my current (stock) rom it reboots into recovery with a black screen and doesnt do anything? what can i do to fix this? should i re-root with a custom recovery through unrevoked 3?

thanks a lot it worked. so now when i go to backup my current rom i wont have the black screen issue? will this work with rom manager?

i just tried to backup my rom again and it did the same thing, only this time the whole screen is black except for 2 white stripes on the left and right side of the screen running up and down

Load the file again and backup using clockwork not Rom manager

it boots up into clockwork but it asks if i want to apply update. should i say yes?

Clockwork never asks you for update your probably taking about hboot
