how to make my phone USB compatible with car stero

i have a Samsung galaxy s5 I want to listen to my music on it through my USB on my car stero ...when I plug it in the car stero doesn't reconcile it how do I fix this

Hello. If it's a usb connection to the stereo and not a charging port, check if a usb icon and message pops on the notification shade when you plug it in, it should be set to Media Transfer Protocol MTP not PTP, which you can change.

If the full music files are in Device storage, not indexed, it should find them.
If no joy you would need to check with the manufacturer of the stereo / vehicle as to compatibility or drivers.
