How is your batter holding up?

Battery life on the Pixel 8 Pro is vastly better than the Pixel 7 Pro.

I have noticed that after two weeks of using adaptive battery that my battery life was a lot worse at the end of the two weeks which was the opposite of my expectations.

Google has buried the adaptive battery setting under battery saver and scroll down then you will see a toggle switch and it is on by default.

Adaptive Battery is supposed to extend daily battery life. Adaptive charging is supposed to extend the useful life of the battery over years. Two very different things. Just to be clear.

Once I turned the adaptive battery off in one day my battery life has increased dramatically.

So a tip for anyone to try if they aren't getting the best battery life is to turn adaptive battery off.

It's not bad. Definitely not the worst I've experienced. I also have a Razr+, and of course, it does better than that, but I got this phone to replace a 2+ year old s21 Ultra. Even at 2 years old, that phone was better on battery than my P8P. I'm not unhappy at all. Just making a comparison.

Pretty happy with my Pixel 8 and a decent improvement over my 7.
