Huawei mate 9 messenger wont let me take pics.

I am having a problem trying to load the camera feature in messenger on my mate 9. I am getting a white screen when I push the camera button in messenger. Saying sorry the camera is not working right now. Other apps maybe using the camera app. Nothing else is running. I can close out of the white screen and then push the camera button again and it will work. Please help.

I am using the stock messenger and I just tested the camera. It is working fine in mine. I also tested the image attachment and it is working fine as well. Not sure if anything going on with the other apps you have installed. Have you tried rebooting?
