J5 logo boot loop - unable to get into restore mode

[Android Central Question]

Hi, I updated an old J5 (SM-J500Y) to android os version 6 (from 5.1.1) which seemed to work fine. This was done through the regular software update process. After the update I unlocked the phone but it appeared frozen. I was able to restart it but now it only shows the J5 logo then immediately reboots (vibrates) and repeats. It won't go into restore mode, but does go into download mode. I flashed it with Odin successfully but the problem is persisting. Does anyone have any suggestions to try? Thank you

Hi, its time to move on from this device its running old software, apps not going be compatible, carrier going force to upgrade eventually
