Music apps deleting themselves

Samsung A70 with Android 11.

Installed Simple Music Player from Play Store and set it up to see the local library (phone memory, no SD installed). It worked for a while and then crashed whilst playing and the app completely disappeared from the phone. Installed again and the same thing happened.

Installed Musicolet and the same thing happened.

Then tried setting Youtube Music up to see local files and after a while the same thing happened. This app has been on the device for some time but only just set it up to look at the local music library, so I'm suspecting that this is something to do with the problem in all three cases.

Not sure what to try next. Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! You're saying that even YouTube Music uninstalled? Was it preinstalled on the phone?

Where are the music tracks from? Did you purchase them for download somewhere, or did you get them from some filesharing site?

Yes, even YouTube music app uninstalled itself. It had been installed for a few months working fine, but not previously with any local files as I've only just put some on the phone.

The files are all .wma or .MP3 ripped from CDs.

Baffled!

That's pretty strange. Is your phone managed by anyone else, like your workplace or school?
