I uninstalled updates for the preinstalled AI Search app (the app that enables the on-device search feature) on my Huawei device and the user experience improved significantly. There are no more ads in the suggested apps section and the search UI now opens instantly when I swipe down on the home screen.

You can do this, too, by going to Settings > Apps > Apps > searching for AI Search > tapping the three dots in the upper right corner > Uninstall updates. You might also want to turn off automatic app updates in the AppGallery so the app won't update again.

Don't you love it when OEMs put ads into basic smartphone functions?😉

For reference, the downgraded version of AI Search is now 21.0.*something*.

So, is it that the pre-installed original version of the AI Search app is not only enough to use, but also minimalist and ad-free? :)
On the contrary, the update of this app brings annoying ads and slows down the performance of the app.

Yeah, they just keep making their apps worse. Now they've added news headlines to the Weather app.
