S-Pen removal: only option is to launch a pop-up note??

I thought I read elsewhere that removing the s-pen would bring up a list of apps that can be selected for use with the pen. I only see the option to have it launch a popup note, otherwise, removing the pen does nothing on my device.

Under settings/display make sure that page buddy is turned on.

I have mine set to off, but for what you're asking about you should have it on.

Thanks for that info! Still limited choices, though. I was hoping for a way to control exactly what pops up and not Samsung's junk. Same limited choice frustration with multi-window apps. Guess I'll have to consider a custom rom. Thanks again.
