I'm having same exact problem with S6 Edge with my Honda Accord 2013. It will connect for a minute or two and then disconnect. It does that even when I'm not in car, with other devices. I used Edge in different car too it was doing the same thing. Also, I Used my wife samsung galaxy s4, my iphone in Accord it worked fine.
So disappointed in Samsung/T-Mobile with this, they have already changed my phone twice and said if this happens again that means the phone is not compatible with my car. Idiots.

Every time I hear about someone having this problem I wonder if perhaps getting your phone updated, a I did a couple of weeks ago, might solve the problem for you. I can't be sure, but it solved my problem for me. I took mine to a Samsung specialist at the local Best Buy store for the update. Hope it works for you. They have to have the update downloaded onto their computer but, once that is complete, the update to your phone only takes a few minutes.

I need help! I had a Samsung S4 that coupled with a Belkin Audio Auxillary device allowed me to listen to music and talk on the phone via bluetooth in my 2013 basic model Hyundai Elantra. I have since upgraded to the Samsung S6 Edge and am unable to listen to my music and talk via my bluetooth. Any suggestions or insight as to why this may be the case? When I try to "pair" my new S6 Edge it's not recognizing the Belkin bluetooth device. I miss talking & listening to music from my phone via my speakers in my car. Please help!!

I have a 2015 cayenne and am pulling my hair out trying to keep my s6 edge connected via Bluetooth, it connects and disconnects, every 2 minutes, so frustrating, verizon sent me 2 new phones already, nothing.
Samsung tells me it's the car, which I would of believed except I have same issue in my wife's escalade , and same issue in a rented gmc yukon, that I drove 2 weeks ago.
I'm about to throw phone out the window. I love the ohine, but cannot continue like this.
I'm really debating making a switch to a different phone.
When will Samsung send down a patch,
Not happy.....

I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT with the touch screen/nav. For some reason, my Galaxy S6 Edge (AT&T)will not regularly auto-connect to bluetooth; it is very random. Some days it works, but most days I have to unpair and re-pair. I looked up the compatibility on Hyundai's website and they have tested and confirmed the S6 and S6 Active, both of which have the same bluetooth version as the Edge, yet the Edge doesn't seem to work. Could this be an issue with Hyundai software, or with Android software? I do know that the most recent version of Lollipop has not been released on AT&T yet.

So I finally gave up, I got rid of my S6 edge, verizon. I just could not take the issues with my Bluetooth in my porsche. I ordered the S6 edge plus, and have been using it for 3 days now with no issues. I'm trying to love the phone bc of its size, but it def. Takes a bit to get used to. Main thing is the Bluetooth is staying connected so I guess , I'll take what I can get. Beats switching to an IPhone.
Will keep you posted.

Hi all,
I got as well the same problem after updating to 5.1.1
The following procedure sorted out it (I found that surfing on the web)
What you need to do is a clear chance partition.

Turn the device off.
Press and hold the Power, Volume Up and Home buttons simultaneously.
When the phone vibrates, release the Power button but continue to press and hold the Volume Up and Home
Now, when Android recovery screen appears, highlight the wipe cache partition option using Volume Down
To confirm the selection, press the Power
Wait for a while until wiping the cache partition is finished.
Now, “Reboot System now” will appear on the screen. To highlight the option use the Volume Up/Down
Press the power button to confirm it, and your device will automatically reboot.

Doing that now the connection stay alive without cutting after 30 seconds of the conversation.

My past 3 phones (Nexus 4, HTC One, HTC One M8) all had Bluetooth issues connecting to my car. All were fixed by denying the car access to the phonebook and contacts. Fine by me as I prefer to dial from the phone than navigate via my car's menu.

When I connected my S6 Edge, I automatically denied phonebook access out of habit. I didn't allow it until the 5.1.1 update where I noticed I don't have any issues.

However, the other day I did notice it was disconnecting and reconnecting a few times, the only difference was that I had two people in the car who I think had bluetooth on their phones active. After they left, no more problems. Not conclusive, but I thought it was very coincidental.

AussieAndroid, I love you.... I followed you're instructions and unpaired my phone, re paired it, and pushed no, to transfer phone book, and guess what....it has been working since I did that (full day of use)
Cautiously optimistic. ....

Thanks again!

Delete the S4 bluetooth connection "info" from the car first? In other words unpair the old phone before pairing the S6??? I am facing the same situation as my old phone was an S4 (which I managed to trash) and my new S6 Edge arrives on Monday......

Un pair, then pair, then push no when it says to transfer contacts.
Boom, works like a charm.

I totally forgot to update here. So I received the 5.1.1 update on 9/27 and since then I have not had any issues connecting to my car via Bluetooth. From time to time my it does not connect automatically, but all I have to do is press the phone button on my steering wheel and it will initialize and connect. This was a common occurrence with my iPhone 6+ as well. Could be a Hyundai thing. Also, I DID allow access to my contacts when I first paired my Edge and that hasn't caused any issues.

EDIT: I never did contact Hyundai to see if there was a software update for my car since it started working with the 5.1.1 update.

Hi
I am having serious issues with the bluetooth. One minute I am talking thru my car bluetooth and next it shows disconnected, however the call is still active on my phone. Tried resetting my car's system but didn't work. Really don't want to reset my phone but will have to do it if that's the solution. However I read here that several users have already done this but the problem still persists. Can someone let me know a solution to this.

Cheers
S

Hello
I have read the many comments about the S6 edge dropping blue tooth in cars and have had a similar experience in my 2012 Toyota highlander limited. Only in my case the phone works but the music rarely connects. Once in a great while it does, but usually ends when the car is turned off.
Seems like most people are unpairing and re-pairing and then not transferring the phone book. Do you think that will help the music case?
Cheers
