Samsung Experience 8.5

My Galaxy Tab A SM-T550 OS 7.1.1 with Samsung Experience version 8.5. My tablet was just updated to OS 7.1.1 a few days ago. So....my question is: What the heck is the Samsung Experience 8.5? What does it do? Did a Google search but I'm still somewhat confused on exactly what it is and what it does. Thank you.

Don't the have a clue...probably just Samsung junk I'm still waiting for the update .

Thank you sputs40. That helped somewhat. I'm using Nova Launcher and it looks like I'll have to go back and try touch wiz. Interesting.
