Samsung Galaxy S5 4G+ screen works intermittent

[Android Central Question]

Hi everyone
I recently bought an S5 as a secondairy phone
The problem is that after i lock the phone and try to unlock the screen flashes yellow and for a split second i can see an image on the screen and then the screen goes to black
And the only way to "fix" this is to pull the battery and let it restart
And even when you see the Samsung Galaxy S5 logo it does that
It doesn't do that at the breathing Samsung logo
What could this be?
Battery?
Faulty screen?
And as a bonus when my brightness is low the screen flickers
I tried the method with developer tools and then hardware overlay (I think) but to no avail
Does somebody now a solution?

Welcome to Android Central! Does it also happen in Safe Mode? https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28456. If it does, then I'd suspect a hardware issue.
