Screenshots not saving to phone?

On the HTC One V, I'm able to take screenshots, but for some reason after I take it, the notification bar just reads "saving screenshot..." forever. It won't go away, and the photo will not save to the SD card or the SIM card. Is anyone else having this issue? It happens sporadically as well, I can't tell when it will or won't save

Welcome to Android Central! Is it trying to save to the microSD card? If the card is corrupt or otherwise having issues, that might cause problems. Photos wouldn't save to the SIM card--that's only to give the phone access to the network, and to save a small number of contacts if desired. Try unmounting the SD card (in Settings>Storage), remove the card, and see if the screenshot saves to Internal Storage correctly.
