This is just a simple guide to setup Aosp cm7 for Optimus S I do not take credit for any of the files attached as they are not my work and will be referenced to their respectable threads of origin. This is mostly just for those lazy people who don't want to check three sources to update or install this rom.

The attached files are needed for this simple process.

aospCMod-VM670-20110601-signed.zip the rom file

gapps gb 20110325 signed.zip

6. Reboot
7. Enjoy :D

If any help is needed please refer to the threads associated with the file as those threads will be able to help you more than I can.
Again I thank aosp and basketthis and all those involved in creating this roms and files associated.
I will try to keep these links updated as new updates roll out.

MMS works? Only thing holding me back..

I don't believe so with the stock app. But using something like Handcent or GoSMS, it works fine. Still has the standard bluetooth errors we see on all cm7 builds, but other than that just about everything is working fine.

Mms.apk is not showing because we are still using the one from the sprint package file, which, once installed, doesn't show. I thought to include the one from the virgin mobile flash but then we would be working with other issues I'm sure. If anyone notices anything to the contrary please inform me and I will do my best to help.

You should rename this thread to "How-to" or guide.

Possible. I have some ideas. We need to consolidate this discussion because its mixed between this thread and the original. Lets keep all troubleshooting to the original aospCMod thread and have this one for confused newbs that need help. ;)

Like the title btw.

just download GoSMS Pro from the market it has a option that says "Check here if, stock SMS is uninstalled so we can handle SMS and MMS."
