SMS not being sent or recieved

[Android Central Question]

Hello,
I have an unlocked Samsung S8 active using Good 2 Go mobile (ATT carrier). Three days ago I accidentally put it in airplane mode and texts stopped coming through.

The details: I cannot send or receive SMS but anyone sending shows messages as received and when I send a message it is shown as sent. MMS sends just fine. This has happened once before same scenario and it resolved itself after a few days.

I have cleared caches, power cycled, reset, reset app permissions, reset network, changed APN settings and back, checked SIM... Everything that Google suggests I have tried but have come up with sms still broken. When I contacted my carrier last time they could not find a problem.

Does anyone have any bright ideas? Or at least somewhere to start?

You using stock Samsung message app?
Did you clear Data then force stop the app ?

Welcome to Android Central! When you say you checked the SIM, do you mean you removed it and reinserted it?
