Sudden screen changes

Just recently, my Droid Razr Maxx has started to take on a mind of its own, as soon as I finish a call. Various background programs want to take control and will not let me stop them. The one that comes up right away is Extreme Call Blocker. It prompts for answers that it will not let me answer in its pop up widget. Then the phone just starts jumping to other menus and screens.

I have to hold the power button to shut down the phone and restart again.

In my Blackberry days, all that I had to do was pull the battery and let it completely reboot. Here I cannot do a battery pull, so what is the next best thing?

Certainly there has to be an answer other than to start from factory settings.

Could it be malware? Try uninstalling the call blocker.

Sorry, to answer your question, hold down power and volume down for about 5-10 seconds. That's essentially the battery pull.
