Tab A7 lite - ATT

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite tablet from ATT (SM-T227U) but don't have an account with them (ATT). The Android version is 11 and it will not update to 12 through Software Update in Settings. I believe that's because I don't have a sim or active account with ATT. Can I install a generic Android 12 os for this tablet? If so, how is that done? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! No, it has to be a Samsung firmware that's compatible. You might be able to flash it manually. Let me see if @mustang7757 can help guide you.

You can try smart switch PC if anything available otherwise going need Odin to flash if it is available
