Why can't I change my ringtone/notification sound?

When I tap the setting to change the ringtone or notifications sound, it just goes to file commander. I've thought it might be the default apps, but it's not that. Any help?

Welcome to the forums. What phone and android version do you have? Have you already tried clearing defaults for File Commander in settings - apps?
