Why won't my Outlook email work?

[Android Central Question]

I just got the Galaxy S8 Active and trying to set up my email (it is an Outlook email account). I entered my address and password, then I chose IMAP account, I checked that the servers names and numbers were all correct. When I entered it i get the message "The username or password is incorrect or POP3/IMAP isn't turned on for this account. Check your account settings or contact your service provider."

I went back and reset my password just to make sure I really knew it, but I keep getting the same error message. I downloaded the Outlook App thinking that might work differently, but that one also won't let me log in because "Username or password is incorrect."

However my username and password work fine when logging in from a computer. So what is going on???
