Search problem

When I use the search capacitive key to look up a contact, the HTC People app force closes. No problem if I go to the people app first and then use search key. Anyone else experiencing this? Coming from WebOS, I like to use the search key for "universal search." Having to open the people app and then search adds an unnecessary step. May have to hard reset and try again, but I hate to have to reinstall 80 apps.

I did a factory reset and still can't search contacts from home screen using the soft key. HTC people app forces close every time.

Bloated. Have not rooted.....yet.
