So what is that going to mean, exactly? Will the Thunderbolt have a SIM in it, meaning it might be useable on other CDMA networks worldwide, or is the SIM only to provide functionality for LTE?

The SIM is strictly for LTE. Other Verizon networks worldwide use GSM which is why the couple of Global phones that have use a SIM. Here's what the SIM slot in the Droid 2 Global is used for: GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 10.2 Mb

Do you know what doesn't make sense though? On one of those hands-on videos there was no SIM in the TB and the lockscreen showed "no SIM, emergency calls only"..........

Makes me think they'll require an LTE plan (and SIM) to use the device (ie., no 3G only).

Well the phone was not activated on at all meaning on any of the VZW network and did not have a sim card installed so could not be activated on 4g.

looks like ppl are starting to see ghosts about this phone.

The fact is there is only one way to know..wait until the phone is out.. no use getting into an uproar about something that frankly no one knows about.

Edit: well one man knows but he might not tell us @Black_man_X
