Photo and Video recovery

Last week I stupidly deleted all the photos that were saved in 'Camera' on my SD card. I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus using Gingerbread 2.3. I frantically searched the net for a recovery program, managed to get everything back, but have noticed that some photos look like they have been cropped, and a number of videos refuse to play since I managed to put them all back on my phone. Any ideas?
