Kitkat unforgiving if Locked out of phone

If you get locked out of your phone (accidentally or intentionally)
Say by entering your pattern wrong too many times you will reach the Google account authentication screen.
Consider this, if you did not have your wifi or mobile data turned on.
A long press on the power button does not have the "turn packet data on" option like on the previous versions like JellyBean.
All the major WiFi widgets available on Google play are not designed to be lock screen widgets, but only as home sreen widgets.

What will a person with Kitkat do in such a situation?

Know any workaround?
Know any lockscreen wifi widgets?

Once you reach the account verification screen, you should be able to pull the notification shade down and activate mobile data.

I am not locked out yet. But heard of this terrifying scenario from a friend.

From the lock screen I cannot pull down my notification bar. I assume same will be the case in the verification screen.

No. I was more asking a counter question than anything.
