Media Players Disappear When I Press Pause from the Lock Screen

Hi all! A few weeks ago, I downloaded a software update onto my Galaxy S7. All it says under About Phone > Software Information is Android versions 8.0.0. Let me know if you need other information.

While I've had several issues since this update, one of the most frustrating ones is that any media player I use - primarily Spotify or Stitcher - will disappear from the lock screen if I pause whatever it is I'm playing. Of course I need to pause music or podcasts from time to time, but then I have to unlock my phone and go to the app and continue to play it.

Is there a way I can stop this from happening? Thank you!

I found an answer, though it's annoying.

When you pause the music (or whatever media), the player seems to disappear. But, while on the lockscreen, if you swipe to the left, the player will be there and you can resume playing.
