First thing copy it to your SD Card.
Second goto the market and download a file manager I suggest Astro File Manager.
Third open Astro and find the .apk on your sd card and click on it.
Fourth click install.
Fifth do a Diabl0 said above me.

Doesn't it automatically install? I just scanned it. It downloaded and then when I clicked on it, Swype said it was going to replace the other version already on the phone.

QR Code for version 1.56 which I believe is the newest. Uninstall the old version before installing this one.

To add to this, if you're checking in Settings > Applications to see what version you have, this one linked is listed as "version 7625". If you hit the Swype key from the keyboard and go to options, the full version number is "1.56.30.7625.t100"

Hope that saves somebody from downloading a version they may already have installed.

The QR code posted is for 1.25.16.5612 which is the same as the Swype posted in April. Dang was hoping it was the "new" one.

No it's not. I just reinstalled from the QR code I posted. It's telling me that it's version 1.56.30.7625.t100. I uninstalled my other Swype first.

1.56.30.7625.t100 is 1.25.16.5612....it's the one from April.

Check inside "Manage Application" then check the info in the app settings. Same one.

^^^

Gotta admit it, I'm totally confused. How can v. 1.56.7625.t100 be 1.25.16.5612.t100??? Is the QR code posted by Diabl0 the newest version?? I'm currently running 1.25.16.5612.t100. Thanks for any help on this!

the t100 is the number is the revision number the none t100 number is the release number.

if it was 1.1 t100 would be the .1 where 5612 is the 1.

Depending on where you look you will see two different numbers. For instance if you goto settings --> Applications --> manage application and look at swype it will say 5612.

If you goto settings --> Keyboard --> Swype settings --> about you will see the t100 number. Confusing but don't blame it on me. So no his QR code is the one from April.

Thanks, Qazme. So, t100 is t100 - hard to argue with that! Of course, he could test it by seeing how his 'updated' version of Swype deals with contractions, but I suspect he'll find you're correct...

Swype "trial ended?? WTF

So ive been using swype and i love it.. its awesome but i just got some message that said Swype trial ended.. I didnt know it was a trial and how to i get the full thing. I feel like this is a bad joke of something.

I downloaded it about a few months ago from droid-life and its been working prefectly. I would like to keep it that way..

its in beta right now, only way to get the new version, as of now, is to be part of that beta. The older version, which you had, is expired and won't work.

Wow this sucks. I hope someone gets the new one hacked and uploaded asap. I've dropped down to SlideIT as my backup, but it's just not as good as Swype.
