Swype Beta Has Ended 6/15/2010

swype beta ended

Has anyone else using swype got this message that their swype trail period has ended? I don't see a link yet for the update to the beta but if anyone has it could you please share it

Yes, I read that you need to be in the beta program to continue using Swype. The current version is no longer valid. Someone else posted about this same issue not too long ago...

Yeah my beta ended last night as well, I already installed Shapewriter and began using that instead, works even better then Swype, mainly because it suggests a zillion words on the bottom you can scroll through easily, try that out...I think youll like it.

Yes. They have expiration dates. Whenever a new version is released, the old version expires typically.

Seems like the Moto Droids and the EVO's have had the trial expire problem

I haven't seen it yet on my Incredible and I'm running the 'latest' version (1.56.30.7625.t100)

Got a message on my Incredible that Swype trial period is over and need to upgrade. I was really starting to like this app but I can't find the paid version in the Market.

Kind of rude, huh? THere is no individual version of Swype for the general public. Only closed beta which apparently expires and OEM.

Good thing I like ShapeWriter more!

negative. I had the same one from the link someone posted on this thread...the Swype for Incredible...I used it daily I hated the stock keyboard, now im using shapewriter and so far so good.

Ive got one that is working just fine for the evo, also does not say the screen size is wrong like the one I was using originally did but i'm not sure if I can post the link here?

Well I had the same message come up for me last night too, but I uninstalled that version and installed the version that is in the link I posted. It's the June release so it should work for your, too.

Both myself, and a friend who installed the "updated" verison posted in post #4 last week recieved a notice this morning that our version had expired.

We both uninstalled and installed the one posted in post 85. It is working now, but it would be a real pain to have to do this once a week.

There is no way to tell how long a version will be good for. Like I said, whenever a newer version rolls out, the old version expires within a few days. If they come out with a new one tomorrow, the one they just released on 6/08 may very well expire. It's out of our control. These are beta files not final releases.


It looks like people have tried to modify the expiration dates in these files, but I'm not sure how well that works.

Awesome I will try that link out above and see what it does.

I used the incredible version the day I got the Evo and it worked awesome!

BTW, shapewriter is very nice too. I like it a lot and if it came down to it, I'd probably just use this. The only think I dont like is the landscape mode of it.

No it's not. I just reinstalled from the QR code I posted. It's telling me that it's version 1.56.30.7625.t100. I uninstalled my other Swype first.

I downloaded from somewhere. And I got the same message today. Did and uninstall/reinstall and am back to swyping.

Now if I can just start writing my thesis on my phone with Swype.
