nexus 4 rebooting system shows for 2 seconds then google logo flashes up and phone turns off

I found out that my nexus 4 had gone into deep hibernation so I searched the internet for a solution. what I found was that you have to hold the volume down and the power button for around 15seconds then insert the micro USB charger of the phone. once you've done that your supposed to get the android logo with options to either reboot your phone, power off, or to start your phone. However the problem that I have is that when the android logo along with the options comes up it only stays there for a maximum of 2 seconds then the Google logo shows up and the phone automatically switches itself off.
please can someone provide me with some sort of simple solution!?
