Constantly unable to connect to Google Play and Google Now

This has been a common problem in every android phone I've ever owned. On Google Now, results sometimes won't load or the homepage (with the cards) will get stuck trying to refresh.

Play Store suffers, too. Connection will often time out, both on data and Wifi.

While this has occurred across multiple versions of Android across multiple devices, I'm running Android L on a Nexus 5 at current.

Welcome to Android Central! Is it only Google services that are impacted? What about browsing on the web, or using apps like Facebook?

Does this occur on both wi-fi and mobile data? If only on wi-fi, is it just on your home network?

Thanks for the warm welcome. The Google homepage doesn't load at all, and some websites just don't finish loading.

I even tried attaching a screenshot to show you but it wouldn't do it. The progress bar for loading a Web page just sits near the end. I tried turning on and off the Wifi, since that's a source of many a problem in Android L, but then the page wouldn't load at all.

Restarting seemed to fix the problem for now. Google loads, finally. This is all over data as well, I haven't been able to test it on Wi-Fi. I think I might flash stock and root it, though. Most of Android L's bugs tend to get in the way of my daily use.
