Sending Pictures via Hangouts.

I like to use Hangouts both for SMS texts and for obviously Hangouts. I like it for the fact I can switch to text if the person I want to message is away from the computer yet everything I in one thread.
The problem I'm having is if I try to send a picture via Hangouts to a text messaging recipient. It is turned 90 degrees so everything looks like it is on its side. Is there a way around this or do I need to go back to the stock messenger app for SMS and MMS messaging.

I don't think there is a way around it. Probably just a bug currently in Hangouts.

It is a bug in Hangouts and the only way around it is to edit the photo prior to sending it so that the orientation is correct on the receivers end.

Best way to get a picture to someone on Hangouts or any messaging system is to send a link not the actual picture as the compression used by the carriers does a real number on the quality of the image.

I've been sending links just for that reason. I store the image on the cloud and send the link to it to the recipient.
