Samsung S3 internet connection problems- both wifi and wireless- though speed check is normal

I am having trouble making internet connections via my phone via wifi as well as mobile wireless, despite the fact that speed test confirms normal download and upload speeds. I am using Air Voice Wireless as a carrier, but I don't think the problem is with APN settings because I also have trouble with my home wifi connection (though it shows five bars). I don't recall having this problem when I first got the phone.

I can google search without problems, but when I try clicking on a link in the search I get the "webpage not available" message, and I cannot download podcasts or search on the Amazon play store.

Phone: Samsung Galaxy S2 i747 (unlocked AT+T phone)
Carrier: AirVoice Wireless (with 500 Mb data monthly- I use a small fraction of this).
Mobile Networks on, Wifi connected, mobile data connection also showing.

Speed Test results:
WiFi: 6.10 Mbps download, 0.87 Mbps upload.
Mobile data: 6.30 Mbps download, 1.09 Mbps upload.

What is the problem? How can I fix it?
