Can anyone hlep me connect my usb to my Galaxy Note 1 to my PC?

Problem usb connecting my Galaxy note 1 with PC

Hi I have a problem connecting my galaxy note 1 with windows 7 PC (Gigabyte). There's nothing wrong with the charger port or the charger cord because I can charge it. So the problem is my galaxy still recognizes the PC and gets charged, but USB won't connect to the PC. When I go to settings->wireless and network-> USB utilities-> Connect storage to PC and THEN connect my cord to my PC, my PC only detects my phone for like 3 seconds and it gets disconnected again. There is nothing wrong with my phone or the PC individually. I have downloaded Kies but nothing's fixed. There is nothing wrong with my SD card either. Can someone please tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks to everyone who'd help. You are all greatly appreciated.

Maybe the USB cable. If not, try installing the drivers again. But there yet, restart everything first and see if that solves the problem
