Black squares appearing over widgets?

[AC Question]

I just upgraded to 4.3 on my GS4+, and everynow and then the widgets seem to just turn to black squares.

Has anyone encountered this problem and if so how do i fix it?

Welcome to Android Central! Is it just temporary, or do you have to reboot each time to get them back to normal?

Are you talking about widgets or shortcut icons? Do all of them turn to black squares, or just some?

You could consider going to the App Manager, selecting TouchWiz home, and Clear Cache/Data there. This will completely reset your homescreens, so you'll have to set them up again.

hi sorry, when i say widgets i mean like the weather app on the home screen, or the briefing app. i will post a picture but i dont have enough posts yet. clearing cache doesn't help

go to settings, find application manager, swipe right to left until you see the sd card tab, untick everything, reboot the phone
if it does not work you may have to do a factory reset

I don't even have a SD card installed. No luck with factory reset...is this a android 4.4.2 bug maybe? Sorry I'm on 4.4.2 not 4.3, that was big typo..some how, not really sure how but yeah..
