what will happen if I have my phone flashed to a new provider?

I am currently in contract with sprint and my husbwnd wants to flash our phones to a no contract carrier called cleartalk wireless. I'm worried it will cause oue phones to be unable to update properly and not keep up with the frequent app updates. Also he was told the phones would always try to reconnect with their original carrier? And they keep the phones for 24hrs to flash them? Is the camera affected? Is anything going to change?

Check out XDA for instructions on that. I have a HTC One Max from Sprint and I'm using a Straight Talk SIM card. What phone do you have?
