Why aren't my contacts syncing with their phone numbers?

Contacts Don't Have Phone Numbers

Earlier today, I migrated from a Lumia 920 (network reception issues) to a Huawei Ascend P7.

It's important to note that this phone was received during a visit to China. As far as I can tell, it isn't carrier locked. However, none of my contacts sync with phone numbers, just emails (once I downloaded Gmail).

Could it be the fact that I had to download Google Play from the Chinese app store, and am lacking the Google Apps package?

Is there a solution to this? I can barely get by, as I know a couple of numbers off by heart. But I work in a place where I can get lots of calls from people.

Have you confirmed that your Lumia synced your contacts to your Google account, and thet the numbers aren't just inside the phone? As a short term workaround, go to Gmail in your new phone's browser & navigate to the contacts. Should all be there.

Or go to Google Contacts and see what's there. That's what the phone syncs to.
